AAF-Montgomery Announces Awards

(Baton Rouge, LA) AAF-Montgomery was honored by the American Advertising Federation (AAF) at the AAF District 7 Spring Conference in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in April for ADDY® awards and Club Achievement awards. This conference was filled with awards at the district level, which includes 25 chapters from Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee.

AAF Awards 2009AAF-Montgomery received one professional Silver ADDY® award, one student Gold ADDY® award and three student Silver ADDY® awards. Cunningham Group won a Silver ADDY® for a Newsletter created for Alabama Bench and Bar. Lesley Graham, a student from Troy University, won a student Gold ADDY® for the Regina Spektor Motion Type website. Hannah Keel, also a student from Troy University, won a student Silver ADDY® award for a photography piece named "Christ's Love ". Daniel Plasa, a student from Auburn Montgomery, won a student Silver ADDY® award for the Japanese Paper Place brochure. Danielle Moore, also a student from Auburn Montgomery, won a student ADDY® award for the Travel Posters series. Lesley Grahams Regina Spektor Motion Type Gold ADDY® entry will automatically advance to the AAF National Convention held in Washington D.C. on
June 4-6.

In addition to the ADDY® Awards, each year the Club Achievement Awards are also presented at the Spring Convention to the District 7 clubs who display exceptional accomplishments in eight categories: education, communication, multi-cultural and diversity relations, government relations, club management, membership, programs and public service. AAF-Montgomery submitted books for all eight categories this year. AAF-Montgomery received first place for public service, second place for club operations and third place for government relations, programs and advertising education. AAF-Montgomery was presented with an overall second place for Club of the Year and received a check for $500 for this award.

Not only was AAF-Montgomery awarded on a district level for these categories, they were also notified they will be awarded on a national level in five different categories in Washington D.C. conference in June. Out of over 200 ad clubs located in ad communities across the country, AAF-Montgomery received five national awards: first place for government relations and club operations, second place for membership and third place for advertising education and multi-cultural and diversity relations. Out of over 200 ad clubs located in ad communities across the country, AAF-Montgomery is proud to accept and share these honors with its members and know it is through much leadership and participation from the members and board that make these achievements possible.

The American Advertising Federation (AAF), headquartered in Washington, D.C., acts as the "Unifying Voice for Advertising." The AAF is the oldest national advertising trade association, representing 50,000 professionals in the advertising industry. There are over 210 ad clubs across the United States. These local clubs are divided into three regions then further divided into one of 15 districts.
